Cookie Policy
This page explains the cookies and similar technologies 3DP Ocean uses, why we use them, and how you can control them.
1. What's a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your browser to remember things across page loads, like that you're signed in. We also use closely-related technologies (local storage, session storage) for the same purposes; for simplicity we refer to them all as "cookies" here.
2. Essential cookies
These are required for the service to work. We can't turn them off without breaking sign-in, security, and your shopping experience.
- Session cookies. Set when you sign in. Without these we can't keep you authenticated as you click around. HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax so they can't be read by JavaScript or sent on most cross-site requests.
- CSRF tokens. These prevent attackers from tricking your browser into making destructive requests on your behalf.
- Theme preference. Remembers light vs dark mode so the page doesn't flash when you reload.
3. Functional cookies / local storage
- Recently-viewed models. Stored in sessionStorage to avoid sending the same view count to the server multiple times when you refresh a model page.
- Create-flow draft. Your last upload + the choices you made (color / scale / etc.) so refreshing doesn't lose your progress mid-generation.
4. Analytics
We don't run third-party analytics today (no Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no PostHog). If we add a self-hosted privacy-respecting analytics tool in the future (such as Plausible) we'll update this page first and we won't transmit your individual events to any third party.
5. Advertising
We don't run advertising and we don't set any third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
6. Third-party cookies
- Stripe. When you visit a payment page Stripe sets its own cookies for fraud prevention. See Stripe's cookie policy.
- Google / Microsoft. Only if you choose to sign in with one of them. Their cookies are set on their domains, not ours.
7. Your control
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies via settings. If you block our essential cookies you won't be able to sign in. You can also sign out from your Account settings to clear the session cookie.
8. Changes to this policy
If we add new categories of cookies (analytics, marketing, etc.) we'll update this page and notify you before the change takes effect.
9. Contact
Questions: /contact.
